BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEWING:
Make The Best Hires, Save Your Company Money and
Save Yourself Time
Guest Speaker:
Matt Gill; Behavioral Interview Trainer, Senior Vice
President of Pile & Company Executive Search Group.
Date: Thursday, October 29, 2009
Time: 4:00-5:30 PM Eastern, 1:00-2:30 PM Pacific
Class Description: Most of us in recruiting
and hiring have heard of Behavioral Interviewing – and
in fact, some may already be implementing this important recruiting
tool. And why not? Behavioral Interviewing is based on the premise
that the most accurate predictor of future performance is past
performance in similar situations. Behavioral Interviewing
is reportedly 55% predictive of future on-the-job behavior…this
is compared with just 10% yielded by the traditional interviewing.
So whether you are just beginning or need to brush up on your
skills, take 90 minutes of your time to learn from Matt Gill
who has been trained through DDI Global as a Behavior Interviewer
and Behavioral Interview Trainer.
In this 90 minute teleseminar you will learn:
- How to lay the Groundwork. Establish baseline questions
centered on the company culture and define (with the hiring
manager if applicable) the behavioral traits of the ideal
candidate and how they relate to the position. Also determine
the success measures, resources and timeframes of this hire.
Preparation is crucial to conducting a meaningful behavioral
interview.
- To perfect your “Larry King”. Okay…it
does not have to be Larry King, but whoever you feel is a
great interviewer. The ability to ask probing questions “on
the fly” is where you can uncover the best information
and determine what the interviewee has actually done.
- To help me, help you. Sometimes the best candidate is the
worst interviewer. Help them give you the best information
by asking for specificity. The beauty of behavioral interviewing
is that it requires the candidate to provide real information
with real details.
